Faith in Action: What It Really Means to Serve

“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:17

What does it really mean to live out our faith?

At BCOM, we believe faith is more than belief—it’s movement. It’s picking up a food bag for a family in need. It’s praying with someone who feels forgotten. It’s teaching a young girl to believe she can be a leader.

Too often, service is seen as a task. But Jesus showed us that service is a way of life.

We’re not perfect, and we don’t have all the answers—but what we do have, we give. With open hearts. With working hands. With willing spirits.

Every act of kindness becomes a ripple. Every moment of compassion becomes a spark. Whether you’re stacking chairs after an event, mentoring a teen, or just listening to someone’s story—you are living out your faith.

So wherever you are today, ask yourself: How can I serve? Not later. Not next week. Today.

Because someone is waiting on the other side of your “yes.”
