Foundation Scripture: 2 Kings 4:8–37

In 2 Kings 4, we meet a remarkable woman from Shunem — a woman of faith, discernment, and quiet strength. She showed kindness to the prophet Elisha, and in return, God blessed her with a son after years of barrenness. Later, that same son fell sick and died in her arms. Yet, when her husband asked why she was hurrying to see the prophet, she said only three words:

“ It is well.”

She didn’t say it because everything looked well. She said it because she believed it would be. Her declaration wasn’t denial — it was faith speaking before sight. She chose to anchor her reality not in what she saw, but in who God is.

Faith Speaks What It Believes

The Shunammite woman’s words mirror the heart of 2 Corinthians 5:7 — “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
